073009 MET Cans Photo by Lannis Waters/The Palm Beach Post 0065826A [WITH STORY BY CLO] --- WEST PALM BEACH--Ashley Szoke (cq),6 prepares a can of food to add on her team's Sponge Bob of cans as kids at the Jewish Community Center of the Greater Palm Beaches Camp Shalom (cq) worked on ''CANstructions'' Thursday, as a means collecting food for the Alpert Jewish Family & Childrens Service Kosher Food Pantry (cq). Teams competed for the best sculpture, using hundreds of donated cans of food. The Alpert Jewish Family & Childrens Service Food Pantry provides non-perishable kosher food to families in need throughout Palm Beach County. Camp Shalom is helping replenish their supplies, as the economic downturn has resulted in increased demand on food pantries. Any non-kosher items will be donated to other area food pantries. 07/30/09.
